Abstract: From the perspective of collective memory theory, this study analyzes the reconstruction path of collective memory in Lingnan culture, and the transformation process of national identity, in order to explore how to strengthen the relationship between collective memory and national identity in Lingnan culture of urban sports events in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The study shows that the process of building collective memory of Lingnan culture in urban sports events will undergo temporal and spatial reconstruction, and the internal identity consciousness can be transformed from "I" to "we" and "ethnic identity" to "national identity" in the process of cultural identity. These suggestions are proposed as follows: building a modern urban sports event exchange platform to inherit and innovate Lingnan culture expression; enriching cultural connotation through modernization of grassroots governance; leveraging events to reconstruct Lingnan culture collective memory; and also focusing on media supervision in events under government leadership to enhance national identity awareness of Lingnan culture.
