Examination of the formal logic and artistic limitation of sports art from ancient times to modern times DU Gao-shan，WANG Huan，HAN Chun-li

Abstract: The sport and art relationship issue has been a focal topic concerned by international sports philosophy circles. The authors placed sports art into such conceptions as western history, art philosophy, Kant’s aesthetics and modern art to examine its formal logic and artistic limitation, and concluded that from ancient Greece regarding sports as the origin of western art, to art philosophy shutting sports art out, from Kant’s aesthetics justifying sports aesthetic nature and artistic quality, to the return of sports art in the change of modern art conception, people’s understanding of the sport and art relationship went through a process of negation of negation. This research provides beneficial refer-ence for enriching and developing Chinese sports art theories, and promoting wonderful sports life realization.
