(1.School of Physical Education,Hunan Technology University,Zhuzhou 412008,China;2.Yongin University,Gyeonggi-do 449714,Korea;3.Institute of Sport Science,Seoul National University,Seoul 151742,Korea) Abstract: In order to present the historical circumstances of Korean tug-of-war, and to explain the underlying rea-son for other countries becoming the winners of world heritage application of Korean tug-of-war, by using research methods such as literature analysis, field investigation and expert interview, on the basis of analyzing the historical origin, regional distribution and inheritance form of Korean tug-of-war, the authors dissected the ritual process of its sacrifice activities, and restored the rice-growing cultural character of its dragon and snake belief and reproduction worship from the perspective of anthropology. While demonstrating that Korean tug-of-war originated from China, the authors presented such historical awkwardness as “customs that are lost in the upper class are found in folks”, hoping to arouse more thinking about traditional culture loss and protection. |
