| （School of Physical Education，Hubei Normal University，Huangshi 435002，China) Abstract: Based on value attribute characteristics and principles, guided by Marxist views of historical materialism, the author analyzed university functions as well as the values and social influence of sports teams managed by uni-versities, so as to clarify society’s misunderstanding and misinterpreting of sports teams managed by universities. The author put forward the following opinions: high performance sports teams managed by universities meet social needs, in the mean time, enable universities’ own functions to be perfected, and embody universities’ responsibility for and mission to the development of sports undertakings of China; high performance sports teams managed by universities have important humanistic value, social value and natural value. |
