| (College of Physical Education and Sport Science，Fujian Normal University，Fuzhou 350007，China) Abstract: The authors carried out a statistical analysis on research methods used in 157 doctor and master degree theses by graduate students majoring in sports humanistic sociology in 15 institutes of higher learning in China, sorted out and summarized their characteristics, and revealed the following characteristics of application of the re-search methods: The students selected the methods according to the needs of their theses; the students had paid at-tention to the comprehensive application of multiple methods; a multi-method system based on a major research method was formed; the students had paid attention to combining qualitative methods with quantitative methods to make their degree theses more scientific; the students had showered attention on the application of the questionnaire survey method to uplift the demonstrative level of their degree theses. |
