| (Department of Physical Education, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Guangzhou 510420,China) Abstract: China University Basketball Association (CUBA) games should be orientated as to cultivate backup talents for basketball in China in the new period, but currently they are not provided with such a function and status, for which there are the following reasons: They are restrained by low levels of tenet, planning and sports performance of CUBA, affected by athlete’s game participating conception, and restricted by sports funds available to universities and colleges. The author offered the following suggestions: The function and status of CUBA games should be further clarified, rational planning should be made, and an all-in-one cultivation system should be established.
