| （Department of Physical Education，Wuhan University of Technology，Wuhan 430070，China） Abstract: The two major basketball games, namely, CUBA and Super University Basketball League Tournament, have played an active role in the popularization and enhancement of basketball game in institutes of higher learning in China, but have such problems as the game system being not in conformity with the actual circumstances, the ob-jectives for development being inaccurately set, the quality of student sources being not ensured, and poor coordina-tion between multiple management departments. The author made the following suggestions：For university bas-ketball game, popularization should be combined with enhancement; a solid foundation should be established; an integrated elementary-middle school-university training system should be gradually established；the competition system should be reformed；student recruitment and management should be standardized；game quality should be enhanced；a university basketball league tournament system that fits into the actual circumstances of China should be established. |
